This shrine is a place where thanksgiving and honor are given to Jesus Christ in His humanity. The history of the devotion to the infant Jesus of Prague dates back more than 400 years ago to Prague, Czechoslovakia. People from around the world have come to view the shrine since it opened in the mid-1900s. Each month, a Novena of prayers is offered on the nine days from the 17th to the 25th. The Sunday that falls between is designated as "Pilgrimage Sunday" and the public is invited to worship.
Hours: Open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for self-guided tours. Group tours are available by appointment.

The Prague Historical Museum has an extensive collection of artifacts that shares the details of the area's history dating back as far as 1891. Prague, the birthplace of famous Olympian Jim Thorpe, also boasts a rich Czechoslovakian history. and was named after Prague, Czechoslovakia. Prague is well known for its annual Kolache Festival held the first Saturday in May.
Hours: Museum open Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Please call ahead for special arrangements.

The Ritz Theater, built in 1897-99, and originally constructed as a dry goods store, is currently the oldest facility of its type in the state of Oklahoma. Having opened as a theater in 1913, by Jake Jones Sr., the Ritz was orginally called "The Cozy." Around WWI the building was remodeled into its 40 ft. width and shortly became a stop on the vaudeville circuit . In 1926, the theater was re-named The Ritz, and Shawnee's first talking motion pictures were shown here. The Ritz currently hosts a number of productions throughout the year.

The museum hosts a collection of memorbilia associated with Shawnee High School. Included are items from the twenties, thirties, forties, fifties and sixties as well as famous Shawnee native, astronaut Gordon Cooper (class of '45) and current Oklahoma Governor, Brad Henry (class of '81). Visitors are treated to a breakfast of coffee and doughnuts.

Shawnee's award-winning community theater has been the number one producer of local, live theater since 1967. Completely self-sufficient through ticket sales and sponsorships, the theater is totally staffed by volunteers. SLT was one of five community theaters in the nation chosen to compete in a national play festival. SLT produces four plays each season between September and May with occasional season extras.
All ages are welcome. Production schedules and ticket information available online.

Named for the brave Indian warrior Chief Tecumseh, this town can boast a proud heritage of both yesterday and today. Tecumseh is one of only two Oklahoma cities to have its own Land Run, and it was the original county seat of Pottawatomie County. Today, the museum showcases historic hats, old ledgers and business paraphernalia from the Dixon Millonary days, as well as a collection of information on Reuben Rivers and other artifacts of Tecumseh's past.
