The inaugural Shawnee Music Festival kicks-off in downtown Shawnee on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. Presented by the Downtown Arts Association, this family-friendly event is free to the public and offers musical entertainment from several genres until 9 p.m.
Located in the new Shawnee Arts District, the event features several musical talents including red dirt country, rock, jazz, classical, indie and bluegrass music. Performances will take place on two separate stages, one outdoor on a grassy lot in the 400-block of East Main, the other inside Sweet Earth Studio.
Local and regional headliners for the festival include Patrick Winsett & the Foolish Pride, Massey and the Dell City Jazz Orchestra. Other performers include Lost & Found Jazz Orchestra; Wayne Cantwell (The Flyin’ Fiddler); Silver, Ivory & Brass; Moonlight Ford; Threeve; Mark Mars; Kenny Pitts; Grassland Band; Don Woolery & Friends; Tonto & the Sidekicks; Second Act; Piercing the Darkness; and the Savoy Trio.
With concessions available by the Downtown Arts Association and numerous locally-owned restaurants in the area, attendees can spend the day celebrating Shawnee charm while enjoying non-stop music. Save the date and make plans to enjoy your favorite bands in downtown Shawnee!
