100 Year Horse

The Mills Machine 100 Year Horse -- commissioned by former Shawnee Mayor Chuck Mills -- describes the development of his family's business from a tiny bicycle shop operated during the early 20th century by his great-grandfather to the current company which manufactures sophisticated oil well drilling equipment that is shipped all over the world.

One side depicts the bicycle shop exterior and interior with workers from vintage photographs as well as early drilling equipment. The other side and horse's face depict the welding and complex drill bits manufactured by the current company. The exterior of that newer building is depicted with members of the Mills family in a red car.
