Discover fun and fascination both old and new in Shawnee's Downtown District. From Main to Highland, from Kickapoo to Harrison, Shawnee's Downtown and Main Street have a history older than the state of Oklahoma. Explore the layers of history in a town that flourished in the era of railroads, then enjoy the fruits of revitalization while perusing shops, restaurants, museums and more.
With newly refurbished facades and roads, Shawnee's Downtown District is often used for community events. Once a month, come down for Safe Events for Families' 3rd Friday block party to enjoy vendors, food trucks, and performances of local talent. Annual events include the Redbud Festival in the Spring; the Trail Days Art & Wine Festival in the Summer; Planes, Trains, & Automobiles at the Pottawatomie County Museum; the Boo on Bell Fall Festival; and the Shawnee Christmas Parade of Lights.
