Carl Hubbell Museum (in City Hall)

  • Carl Hubbell was a baseball great during the time of "Baseball Greats." He struck out Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons and Joe Cronin – five of the game’s greatest hitters of all-time –IN ONE GAME at the 1934 Mid-Summer Classic in New York City. Hubbell is considered one of the greatest all-around players of all time. The Carl Hubbell Museum in Meeker showcases memorabilia of Carl Hubbell, baseball hall of famer and left handed "screwball' pitcher who played with the New York Giants from 1928-1943. Located in the foyer of the Meeker City Hall, this hometown museum contains many signed baseballs, two most valuable player awards and many other awards, photos and news articles.

LOCO (Locomotive Operators of Central Oklahoma)

  • Locomotive Operators of Central Oklahoma (L.O.C.O.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of large scale model railroading. The scale is 1.5 inches to the foot (1/8th scale) and the track gauge (distance between the rails) is 7.5 inches making the equipment large enough to ride. The organization owns and operates an outdoor railroad on five acres of land about 16 miles west of Shawnee. The track plan is a modified figure eight with a mainline approximately three quarters of a mile that passes over seven bridges and through an 80-foot tunnel. In addition, there is another half-mile of sidings, spurs, and yards.
